Coming onto their home field the Falcons pushed past non-district foe Katy Cinco Ranch and had enough “buy in” energy to edge out a win against the Cougars 50-48. The win brings their record to 1-1 while the Cougars’ tallied their second loss of the season.

“Offense did really good. Defense played great. We struggled late in the third quarter, but we were able to pull it off in the end. All around it was a great game,” Quarterback Raymond “Trey” Richardson, senior, said.

The Falcon’s offense came in ready to power out the Cougar, picking up 20 points in the first half. While the Falcon defense limited Cinco Ranch to only two touchdowns. Jersey Village led 20-14 going into halftime.

The Cougars managed to score another 34 points in the second half, but it was not enough to beat the Falcons. The Cougars’ loss was confirmed in a missed two-point attempt in the final seconds of the game, after scoring a touchdown.

“It was an awesome win. It was a team win. It took all three phases of the game to win Friday night. Our motto is, “Buying in and Win the Day” and that’s what these kids did. We are all very proud of them,” Falcon head football coach David Snokhous said.

The Falcons will return to the field next Thursday, September 13, against district rival Cypress Ridge, at Cy-Fair ISD’s Pridgeon Stadium. The game will be an Orange Out game, dedicated to childhood cancer research, especially leukemia.
